The Beautiful CEO Gregg Renfrew at Beautycounter Launch in Haven's Kitchen at the NYC Private Launch
Thursday, February 28th, 2013
When it comes to being on the forefront of beauty, Gregg Renfrew CEO + Founder of Beautycounter is leaps and bounds ahead of the industry and thank goodness she is - reminding us that HEALTHY COUNTS!! We learned some scary things about what hides behind our favorite soaps, skin creams, foundations, and even lipsticks. Oh and don't forget fragrance! That's right Drobers, they have done the homework for you.

1. Whether we realize it or not, we use between 12 to 20 beauty products every day, 365 days out of the year
2. Your skin absorbs about 60 percent of what you put on it, yet 80 percent of what you are putting on it has never been tested for safety. Many of these common chemicals have been linked to cancer, birth defects, and learning disabilities

The ever-so wise Carrie Bradshaw once said, 'I'm picky about my shoes and they only go on my feet'. So why aren't we pickier about our beauty products?! Renfrew boldly asked that question for health conscious human beings everywhere and reacted not only with an answer, but a solution... by demystifying the industry's issues, and producing a product.

Creating Beautycounter, Renfrew provides women and men with not only the knowledge, but also the tools to change the way beauty products affect our well-being with accessibly priced products. Her key initiatives?

And here is where it gets brilliant...as if it wasn't already... every product Renfrew created adheres to the strickest guidelines the beauty industry has ever seen. No ingredients, I repeat NO. INGREDIENTS. are used that have been linked to human health issues.  It's no wonder that incredible women such as Lela Rose, Amanda Nisbet and Bridget Moynahan are the faces you see when you look around the NYC launch.

A true entrepreneur, Renfrew wasn't just concerned about health. She recruited Christy Coleman, one of the industry's top makeup artists, to make sure these products performed at the highest level. Proving we don't have to sacrifice glamour for health.  Don't we do that enough already!!?

Not only is Beautycounter changing our lives for the better, it is run by some of the most intelligent, business savvy women our generation has ever seen. Beautycounter goes full circle by empowering women, providing them with valuable knowledge, and giving them the opportunity to then sell these products to the people they care about and share the experience!  That's right Drobers, you can shop and be one of this incredible company's consultants. AH!

This isn't just about beauty for us anymore, this is a movement. 1 in every 2 women is diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Beautycounter is changing the way we live and taking charge of our health and lifestyles. We think about what we put in our bodies, it's time we started thinking about what we put on them.  Next month, we will see Beautycounter's body care line, followed closely with Children's Care products on Mother's Day and keep an eye out for the color care make-up line coming out Fall 2013.

BRAVO Gregg Renfrow, we couldn't be more excited about what you are doing. Drobers... join the movement with us and remember "the choices you make today, matter tomorrow". As Renfrow said, "Here's to beauty, here's to change"!

With Style,
Your MyDROBE Team
