We are a little less than 3 months away from the premiere of Spring 2014 collections at fashion week. Do you need something to hold you over until then? 
Perfect - because Resort 2014 collections are OUT! 
Resort collections can be somewhat confusing though... Is it just a beachwear collection as the name suggests? It was initially a collection designed for the wealthy to wear on their mid-winter resort vacations, but has now shifted as a year-round seasonal trend for us all.
These inter-season collections mix functionality with fashion - containing everything from bathing suits to formal gowns, and basing most of their looks on nautical influences. So, with that, we present you the hottest trends from Resort 2014!

Sheer Overlays

Peek-a-boo! We've been seeing a lot of sheer fabrics throughout the past few seasons. Resort 2014 is continuing the trend with these see-through looks. The high-necklines and longer hems give these designs a tasteful sophistication.

High End Fashion and the Economic Recession

When the American economy took a nosedive in 2008, now known as the "Great Recession", economists and analysts made predictions on the projected values of consumer goods for the coming years. Luckily for us Drobers, "High End Fashion" has remained largely untouched by the recession, just as those analysts predicted.

Worldwide, brands like Gucci, Prada, and Versace have shown burgeoning sales while other consumer goods have dropped dramatically. As the stock market and home prices continue to rise, and unemployment begins to fall, Americans are spending more money.

In early 2013, Hermès International reported a 21% increase in sales in the Americas for their fourth quarter. This trend continued with brands like Tiffany and Cartier, which makes us very happy Drobers to know that our favorites in fashion are alive and well, and definitely here to stay.

The impact of high end fashion isn't just on the runway and in your DROBE, as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City brings in 850 million annually, and that's nothing to laugh at. We could buy a lot of dresses with that. A lot.

Though this trend is expected to slow down, it still means that these high end brands are safe from the recession, and that they will continue to provide us with beautiful clothes and a style to die for. Maybe it's because their names precede their brands, or maybe its because their clothes are just that good. Either way, we at myDROBE are ecstatic.
