I think we've figured out that, even though they were a huge fad, Crocs were just never that cool. Let's be honest... they're downright heinous. But for the people who prefer some rubber in their sole, we've got you covered with one of our new favorites, Swims Footwear.
Swims was started by Norwegian Johan Ringdal in 2006 after he graduated the Parson's School of Design in New York. Swims first explosion onto the fashion scene was a rehabilitation of a long forgotten niche of the overshoe.
In 2010, they launched a shoe to be worn on its own, the shoe that they are now famous for, the Loafer. These loafers present style and function: they look great, dry quickly, and they're non-slip. Perfect for that windy day on the yacht. Or boat. Or dock. Or for just sitting inside pretending you had any of those.
In 2012, Armani models walked down the runway in Milan wearing SWIMS overshoes, showing off the excellent craftsmanship of the Scandinavian brand.
In addition, hop in to any John Lobb store and you'll find some awesome overshoes made by, guess who, SWIMS. These overshoes are custom made to fit the John Lobb shoes. And they look damn good.
These shoes and overshoes will protect do great in any kind of muck you get yourself into, whether it's inclement weather or just good old beer sludge. So move over, Sperry's, jump into the water, Crocs, and drive on, Cole Haan, there's a new sherrif in town, and he looks good.
With Style,
Your MyDROBE Team
