The Louis Vuitton runway transformed into a dimly lit, old world hotel hallway for Marc Jacob's debut of his Fall 2013 Collection during Paris Fashion Week at the Louvre...
I know, we wish we were there too.
With disheveled hair and brooding expressions the models channeled Italian actress Anna Magnani.
Each model appeared behind one of 50 doors to give viewers an intimate and somewhat voyeuristic experience of the mysterious and provocative woman behind the hotel room door.
Louis Vuitton runway shows have long been about the experience, transporting the viewer to another time and place, and this season Jacobs did not disappoint. For this collection, he wanted to encapsulate the femme fatale and what she would wear, or not wear, whilst sneaking into different hotel chambers in the middle of the night.
The results were half dressed, effortlessly glamourous and sexy looks that could be converted from nightgown, to day, to evening wear.
The accessories were label free, a trend seen with more and more luxury labels as they try to test the strength of their brands sans logos (i.e. Saint Laurent's departure from Yves).
Kate Moss made an epic appearance on the runway, accompanied with applause from the crowd.
Marc Jacobs thoroughly impressed us this season, creating a collection that not only addresses the effortlessly chic woman, but also speaks to the darker, more mysterious side, which we Drobers know is in all of us.
