Your Django, MyDROBE Django

All of us at MyDROBE couldn't help but feel intrigued with the release of Quentin Tarantino’s new film ‘Django Unchained’.  Blood, gore, wit, and an all-star cast that is so quintessentially Tarantino, are among many of the obvious reasons.

But most importantly the costume designer, Sharen Davis, is an Oscar nominee for the film… yes, that’s right, that info was leaked, so have heard it here first or possibly second, but we are okay with that.  And, let’s all agree that we’ll never get sick of Leo in old school garb.
At MyDROBE specifically, our ‘Django’ intrigue stems from our silly connection.  ‘Django’ just so happens to be the main code used to build our MyDROBE site.  The love and labor put into this little ‘Django’ coding at MyDROBE has forced us to feel an immediate connection with Tarantino’s new film; we love grabbing inspiration from period fashion pieces and it's a great excuse to watch a film with guest appearances by Samuel L. Jackson and Jonah Hill. Yes, I said Jonah Hill.

Either way, we are proud to announce that ‘Django Unchained’ has been #DrobeApproved! Of course, if you are looking for a light, blissful rom-com Tarantino isn’t your guy, but if you don’t know that by now…  How do you not know that by now!?

Anyway, the costume is sensational and the film sends a deeper message. ‘Django Unchained’ forces us to be uncomfortable and view the abhorrent characteristics of slavery, while allowing the characters a little vengeance.  But don’t worry, per usual, Tarantino has a way of inserting a twisted sense of humor to keep the viewer from taking the film too seriously; i.e. Jonah Hill’s little entry midway through the film that is bound to make you giggle.

Last but not least, we are always keeping our eyes peeled for fashion inspiration and in this case, taking the cues from the old, making it new, and sending it off to the runway!

Our recommendation: Get out and see ‘Django Unchained’ and if you do, shout out to us here at MyDROBE, working with our own ‘Django’ to make your life just a little more fashionable and continue to Take the War out of your Wardrobe.

With Style,
Your MyDROBE Team
